[1]On May 18, the National Writers Union [2] (NWU) will present its second annual international writers conference, Writing Across Borders [3]. In the interview that follows Tim Sheard, the Chairman of the New York’s chapter of the NWU explains why, in this city of neighborhoods, it’s important that we cross borders to share the realities that as writers we help both shape and address.
The whole day conference will be held at University Settlement, 184 Eldridge Street, in the historic Lower East Side district that was once home to large populations of people who put their faith, and the survival of their own families, in a new land.
